Since 1983, Xecom has supplied miniature communications components to Original Equipment Manufacturers. These components include complete modems in modular form and wireless transceiver modules. Xecom designs and manufactures the modem and wireless products we sell.  Our design capabilities include , hardware, software and RF design.  Our manufacturing utilizes modern surface-mount assembly equipment and techniques to insure high yields of high quality products.  By controlling the product from design through assembly Xecom maintains complete control  over the quality of the finished product. 

All of the modem and wireless modules produced by Xecom include transferable FCC certifications; FCC Part 68 for modems and FCC Part 15 for wireless modules. Transferable certification saves Xecom customers development time and expense and prevents agency certifications from delaying product introduction.

Xecom and Silicon Laboratories

Xecom has recently teamed with Silicon Laboratories to develop an advanced line of modem modules. Each model benefits from Silicon Laboratories' excellence in mixed signal IC design and Xecom's experience in tailoring modems for the embedded marketplace.

Xecom HyPLCC Modem

Among the products bearing the fruits of this collaboration are the world's smallest complete modems; XE2420G, XE5690G and XE5692G.  Xecom developed a Hybrid PLCC package which allows integration of a complete modem in a 68-pin PLCC footprint. Not only are these the world's smallest modems but the first full line of surface-mountable modem modules. In fact, only Xecom offers the choice of surface-mount modem modules. The small package makes these modems ideal in any space constrained application.

Xecom "SM" Modem

When space is not a consideration, Xecom offers a second Silicon Laboratories-based modem line.  These open modem modules trade a small increase in size for a further reduction in price. The XE2422SM, XE5690SM and XE5692SM are available as through-hole or leadless, surface-mount devices.
